Job Safety Analysis - Workplace Safety
Job Safety Analysis, or JSA, is essentially the assessment of work activities and the workplace to establish whether adequate precautions are in place. In other words, it is the systematic identification of potential hazards in the workplace as a step to controlling the possible risks involved.
Clearly this is not a quick or trivial job. It requires expertise and ideally a trusted framework to work with.
RESOURCES: THE JSA REPORT GENERATOR
To assist with this exercise, an MS-Word based tool has emerged. This provides the basic framework for JSA, in that a large library of hazards and controls is provided to select from and work through. It subsequently generates a series of professional job safety analysis reports with minimal effort.
